Scope of Work
Good Life Construction completed a full bathroom remodel in Sacramento, including removal of the existing shower enclosure, shower tile, floor tile, baseboards, doors, and plumbing fixtures. The work added quartz shower surfaces, a bench, two niches, Schluter waterproofing, tiled flooring, a glass enclosure, updated plumbing fixtures and lighting, new doors and trim, and complete painting. The approved change order also covered shower drain piping, slope correction, concrete replacement, and epoxy grout.
Challenges
Moisture was documented at the shower framing, while the existing drain required access through the concrete slab to correct its slope and replace approximately four linear feet of piping. Completing these concealed repairs required close coordination between the plumbing, concrete, waterproofing, tile, and finish phases.
Solutions
Good Life Construction dried the affected studs, opened and restored the localized slab section, adjusted the drain slope, and installed new shower drain piping. The shower was rebuilt with Schluter waterproofing, sealed transitions and penetrations, a flood-tested pan, quartz surfaces, tiled flooring, epoxy grout, and silicone-sealed joints for layered moisture protection.
Final Result
- The shower drain slope and piping were corrected before the concrete slab was restored.
- The remodeled bathroom provides an updated shower, flooring, fixtures, lighting, doors, trim, and painted finishes.
- Schluter waterproofing, sealed penetrations, epoxy grout, and silicone joints provide coordinated wet-area protection.
