Scope of Work
Good Life Construction completed a full home remodel and siding replacement project in Fair Oaks. Exterior work included removing the existing siding, installing new OSB sheathing and building paper, and completing the home with James Hardie fiber-cement lap siding, Hardie trim, galvanized fasteners, sealants, and two vinyl sliding doors. Interior improvements included kitchen and bathroom remodeling, shaker cabinetry, quartz surfaces, plumbing fixtures, shower systems, recessed lighting, closet doors, flooring removal, R-19 insulation, drywall repairs, electrical upgrades, painted doors and soffits, shower niches, and new plumbing shut-off valves.
Challenges
The project required coordinated sequencing between major exterior work and improvements throughout the home. New siding, sheathing, weather protection, trim, and sliding doors had to connect properly with existing openings and exterior transitions. Interior work also required close coordination among electrical, plumbing, insulation, cabinetry, bathroom, painting, and finish installations.
Solutions
The team used selective demolition and phased trade coordination to maintain an efficient construction sequence. New sheathing and building paper created a consistent, protected substrate for the James Hardie siding system, while Hardie trim, galvanized nails, and sealants completed exterior connections. Interior spaces received coordinated fixture, surface, lighting, insulation, plumbing, and finish upgrades designed to improve function, durability, and overall building performance.
Final Result
