Scope of Work
Good Life Construction completed a master bathroom remodel in Rocklin, CA, including demolition of the existing shower, tub, and countertop, debris removal, subfloor repair, and a new framed wall between the toilet and shower. The scope included a new shower valve and drain assembly, cement board, shower pan, Schluter waterproofing membrane, shower niche, mosaic shower floor tile, large format shower wall tile, bathroom floor tile, prefab quartz countertop, prefab backsplash, new tub adjustments, finish fixtures, shower glass door, medicine cabinet, exhaust vent fan, baseboards, drywall patching, and paint.
Challenges
The project required careful coordination around the existing bathroom layout, including removal of the original shower, tub, and countertop while preparing the space for new tile, plumbing connections, and finish fixtures. Good Life Construction also addressed up to 16 sq. ft. of subfloor repair and patched drywall in the bathroom and downstairs ceiling areas, requiring attention to existing conditions and clean finish transitions.
Solutions
Good Life Construction rebuilt the shower assembly with a new valve, drain, cement board, shower pan, and Schluter waterproofing membrane before installing the selected tile finishes. The team repaired the subfloor as needed, framed the new wall between the toilet and shower, installed the prefab quartz countertop and backsplash, completed fixture installation, added an exhaust vent fan with switch, and finished the space with baseboards, drywall patching, and paint.
Final Result
- Improved bathroom performance with repaired subfloor areas, updated plumbing connections, and a new waterproofed shower system.
- Updated usability with a new tub, quartz countertop, tile surfaces, shower glass door, medicine cabinet, lighting, and finish fixtures.
- Better long-term durability through cement board, Schluter waterproofing, tile installation, patching, and finish coordination.
